Maid of Honor Checklist

 

  • -Help's the bride select bridesmaid's attire 

  • -Help Address Invitations and Place Cards 

  • -Attends as many Prenupital Events as possible 

  • -Organizes Bridemads' gift to the bride 

  • -Usually gives an individual gift to the couple 

  • -Makes sure that all the Bridesmaids, the flower girl and the ring bearer are at fittings, the rehearsal and the ceremony on time

  • -Is expected to attend the rehearsal and is included at the rehearsal dinner

  • -Walks in processional and recessional

  • -Holds the groom's wedding ring

  • -Help with the bride's gown

  • -Makes sure the bride's gown is perfect throughout the day

  • -Witness the signing of the marriage certificate  

  • -Stands in the receiving line 

  • -Keeps the bride on schedule 

  • -Helps the Bride change into her going away clothes 

  • -Takes care of the bride's going and accessories at the reception 

  • -Pays for own wedding attire and transportation to the wedding 

Best Man's Checklist  

 

  • -Ogranizes a pre-wedding party for the groom

  • -Coordinates the usher's gift to the groom 

  • -Gives an individual gift to the couple

  • -Attends the rehearsal dinner 

  • -Gets the groom dressed and to the ceremony on time

  • -Makes sure the groom's wedding related expenses are prepared 

  • -Makes sure the groom's marriage license is with him 

  • -Deliveres the payments to vendors on the wedding day 

  • -Enters the sanctuary wit the groom 

  • -Holds the bride's wedding ring 

  • -Makes sure all ushers are properly atiired and on time

  • -Witness the signing of the marriage certificate 

  • -Helps welcome guests at reception 

  • -Helps the groom get ready for the honeymoon 

  • -Has a car ready for the bride and groom to leave the reception or drives them to their next destination 

Bride's Chcklist 

 

A month before

  • -Obtain marriage license 

  • -Check on invitation responses & enter into guest list database 

  • -Have a final fitting for gown and dresses 

  • -Meet with the photographer 

  • -Complete all medical & dental appointments

  • -Prepare agenda sheets for the wedding day to photographer, offciant, MC, etc.

  • -Check for all reception accessories 

  • -Make arrangements to board any pets

  • -Have bridesmaids attend final fitting

  • -Enjoy a bachelorette part or shower 

 

2 Weeks Before

  • -Pick up gown & bridesmaids dresses 

  • -Confirm all travel/transport arangements

  • -Call guests who have not replied 

  • -Assign seating for ceremony & reception 

  • -Have trial hair styles & make up with bridesmaids

 

1 Week Before

  • -Reconfirm arrangements with vendors

  • -Inform caterer of final acceptances numbers 

  • -Pack for honeymoon

  • -Make up emergency kit to take with you 

  • -Encourage groom to have his hair cut 

  • -Lots of sleep, don't wear yourself out 

  • -Have facials, skin treatments, waxing completed 

 

The Day Before 

  • -Rehearsal & rehearsal dinner

  • -Give gifts to attendants/parents/bridesmaids

  • -Oversee set up of reception space 

  • -Book spa treatment for you & the groom 

  • -Make sure groom & groomsmen pick up tuxedos

 

Wedding Day 

  • -Have a good, healthy breakfast

  • -Have hair & make up done at least three hours ahead 

  • -Allow yourself & bridesmaids plenty of time to dress (two hours)

  • -Make sure groom has given rings & license to best man 

  • -Make sure all flowers have been deiivered or picked up 

  • -Transfer your engagement ring to your right hand before ceremony begins

  • -Be confident & happy 

  • -Wear a smile :)

 

Groom's Checklist

 

A month before

  • -Collect wedding rings 

  • -Check on invitation responses & enter into guest list database

  • -Complete all medical & dental appointments

  • -Enjoy a bachelor party

 

2 Weeks Before 

  • -Confirm all travel/transport arrangements with bride

  • -Assign duties to ushers 

  • -Check final detals with groomsmen

  • -Plan for the wedding toast 

 

1 Week Before 

  • -Reconfirm arrangements with vendors 

  • -Pack for honeymoon

  • -Have a hair cut 

  • -Have lots of sleep 

  • -Have personal care treatment 

 

The Day Before

  • -Rehersal & rehearsal dinner

  • -Give gifts to attendants/parents/bridemaids

  • -Book a spa treatment for you & your bride 

  • -Pick up tuxedos

  • -Arrange for rental returns

 

Wedding Day 

  • -Have a good, healthy breakfast 

  • -Get ready with plenty of time to spare 

  • -Give rings & license to best man 

  • -Pay the florist

  • -Give best man the officiant's fee in a sealed envelope

  • -Be confident & happy 

  • -When you first see your bride, give her the biggest smile you can manage :)
